What’s coming up
We are excited to be opening our new site in West Reading this year! Sadly our work at the Wild Woods is winding down. Thanks to new friends of Wild City, we have found an exciting new adventure at 59 Gloucester Road. We can’t wait to create a home for nature and build a calendar of wild events for the local community in Wild City @ no. 59 Gloucester Road.
We hope to offer community gardening, workshops, holiday camps and midweek schools provision, but this will take time, funding and people power to build.
We are currently waiting for Reading Borough Council’s planning department to make a decision on whether we have permission to use the space. When this has come through, we hope to be able to launch our groups again as soon as we can in October (all being well). We are so grateful for your patience and kind support while we all wait. Watch this space.
What’s on at the Collective?
All our groups are paused while we await a planning decision from Reading Borough Council. We hope to recommence our usual groups as below.
Mondays – 10:30-12pm – Wondrous Wrens for Families Home Educating, Flexi Schooling or deferring school starts (term time only).
Tuesdays – 10-11:30 – Little Robins for anyone under 5 and their grown-ups (term time only).
Wednesdays – 9:30-12:30 – COMING SOON – Splendid Sparrows for children and young people with a Christian faith who are educated at home (term time only).
Saturdays – Afternoons – Party Time; we run private parties for your kids. They really are a hoot.
During the school holidays we take a break from Wrens and Robins, but we run our legendary Wild Camps and Wild Pioneers.

Hear from Our Community

“There was an obvious sense of deep care for the children attending, as well as beautiful trust in the children themselves as they explored the space and enjoyed the different aspects of the natural environment and creative activities.”
Lorraine, Parent
Wild Summer Camp

“Seeing my kids able to explore in a safe environment, knowing I would have that chance each week to chat freely about the struggles and the joys of parenting without fear of judgement was a real help.”
Katherine, Parent
Little Robins

“An amazing sanctuary and place for adults and children alike. Everyone is very welcoming. Kat creates amazing activities and has an immense amount of knowledge about the natural world to share.”
Laura Van Eyck, Carer
Little Robins

“Little Robins is always a highlight of our week! Our kids have benefited so much that I’ve continued to bring my eldest once a week even since she started school and it has done wonders for her confidence, independence and education!”
