Our kids holiday camp for ages 5-11 is perfect for wild kids who need to run off some steam and get muddy in the freedom of our secure woods.
If this sounds like it would suit your kids, send them to us - this is our bread and butter!
Our private, secure woodland in Westwood Farm School in Tilehurst, Reading is all setup with equipment for tree climbing, swinging and mud play. We have our own tools, fire area all ready to go, an A frame shelter, a kitchen area, toilet and a summer house for rain showers.

We run Wild City Collective groups from the small private woodland area in Tilehurst near Brookfields SEN School & Westwood Farm School (postcode RG31 6RY) which has two entrances, but on this occasion we will only use the Westwood Farm one. The entrance for this club will only be via Westwood Farm School, including pickup and drop off.
We create a safe, secure space for kids to explore risky play with trained professionals, giving them all the support they need, when they need it, while giving them the space to learn, develop and gain confidence. It is the perfect balance of risky space with a supportive loving structure behind them. This gives them an opportunity to stretch themselves and build confidence, resilience, have fun and feel good whilst getting exhausted and muddy in the fresh air. Kind of like a 1970's summer, but with insurance and subtle risk management that your kids don't see and trained professionals too!
We blend Forest School, free play and messy play with open crafts, group games, stories (optional), cooking on the fire, bushcraft skills and meditative reflections.
The small private nature reserve is used by both Brookfields SEN School and Westwood Farm Schools throughout the usual school week. The woodland has a copse area, a nature pond, many mud kitchens, a summer house with wood burning stove for cold days, a quiet art corner, swings, hammocks and an A frame shelter over an open fire area with seating. We are always improving the site and open to new ideas and helpers from the community.
The space is small enough for our staff to know where everyone is, but big enough for the kids to feel they are able to find a quiet spot to have solitude if they want. It is a secure site, with no access to the public, so you can rest assured that your children will be safe to play freely. We will have use of the toilets at Westwood Farm School for Holiday Camp but we also have our own camping toilet for those who get caught short or want to go a bit more wild.
